The Quarry Project January 2021 Update

These are precious moments together - excellent medicine for each of us, not fame, not money, but friends who will be there through thick and thin.

This fractured quote was jotted down on a notepad a while back. I don’t remember the source but it holds weight and rings true for me. It is our thoughtful, caring, honest connections that are essential, like food/water/air.

Since winter set in, I have been meeting ensemble, one at a time, on the virtual platform. I am grateful for the technology and have gotten quite comfortable with it as a substitute. But make no mistake, I can’t wait to be in person with them when the weather turns temperate again.

Meanwhile, I shovel the snow, feed the birds, walk with the dog, make food with Dave, read, rest, study my craft, and nudge this project forward, one small step at a time. Here is a photo from last week’s visit to the quarry.

In lieu of an in-person award ceremony, The Vermont Arts Council chose to create a film of the 2020 awardees. Here is the 2-minute section that features me, and here I am with the Walter Cerf Medal.

Next month, we will have the 2020 Quarry Project film to share with you.
Stay safe, be kind, breathe deep.
