In just ten days, we will be in the Bradford site for an ensemble rehearsal day on Saturday and then opening it up to two public dress rehearsals on Sunday. We are excited to be finally in the stream of presenting the work.
If you are interested in coming to see Forest, go here to get tickets. Already, the shows are selling out, so don’t wait too long.
Volunteers are still needed, either on performance weekends or beforehand as set up/break down crew. Go here to sign up. There are many moving parts to this performance and your help will make things go smoothly.
We have worked carefully to describe for you what to expect, what is available and what to bring. Please spend some time reading all about Forest so that you are thoroughly prepared for this unique event. Go here to browse and absorb.
Thank you to all who have donated to date! Your generosity pays dancers, musicians and artistic partners. Twenty-five years ago, as my work developed and the audiences grew, I made and kept a commitment to pay the artists partners. At first it was a token. Now I can pay a decent stipend to them and pay the performing ensemble an honorable hourly amount. This country looks askance at contemporary performing arts, so it has not been an easy lift. If we were able to actually meet the budget so that everyone were paid in full and the material costs met, that would be a great day and worthy of a celebration. However, as is frequently the case, there is a gap between the projected expenses and the current income. If you can make a donation, here is the secure site. Thank you.
I will close with the photo below, such wonderful contrasts of shape and color. Ah summer.
