A New Project

Hello to all of you,

Much to my surprise – and delight – a new site piece is emerging from my creative brain. Forest is a contemporary dance/theatre piece designed for four woodlands in east Central Vermont to be performed in 2026.

I grew up in the forests and fields of Massachusetts where I roamed freely, got lost, found my way, got stuck, untangled myself, grew comfortable amongst the other species in the forest, all great learning for life. 

Fast forward to 2000 when my partner and I relocated from Burlington to a plot of land in east Central VT that is part of a contiguous, conserved forest. We built a house and found our home amongst the trees, where we are the minority species. 

In 2022, after the performances of the Quarry Project were complete, I took a much-needed respite to Maine, staying in two places gifted to me for those weeks. There was a forest on a peninsula where I walked with my dog Daisy. I was stirred. It was beautiful and stark, moss covering everything, tall Spruce, rocky terrain, the smell of the ocean.  

When I returned home and walked the quiet road I live on, slowly the idea of a new piece began to take shape.
