November 2025 Update

When artists make work, we start huge. I remember some of the early ideas for The Quarry Project involved zip lines, harnessed dancers walking down the face of the rock wall, frogmen propelling the stages through the water. Those all went in the discard pile as the dream stage passed and what was possible became the focus. Some wise person said that the only thing for certain is change.
Forest has begun the paring down stage from four sites to two, from three weekend days to two. As much as I wanted to set the work in those singular locations and as hard as it was to pull out of Downer State Forest and Clover Hill Tree Farm where I had developed a deep appreciation of these unique settings and the people who steward them, it was the right decision. We are now focused totally on two Vermont settings: one in Bradford and one in So Washington. Here is a clip from the September test in the So Washington location.
Most artists hold numerous roles in order to produce their work. We are not in Hollywood or on Broadway where art has become big business. You are the ones who help to make the work a reality through your personal donations. Here is our new platform - Zeffy - who commits 100% of your gift to non-profits like Cradle to Grave Arts, Inc. Hurrah to no more gritting my teeth to go with PayPal!
Enjoy the quiet of this season,
Hannah
