In just 15 days, the tickets will go on sale for Forest, so I encourage you to look at the Forest website to acquaint yourself with the dates, the Accessibility Services, and Know Before You Go so that when June 24th arrives, you are ready to purchase your ticket.
We are working daily to get all the puzzle pieces in place. If you are interested in volunteering for performances or prep crew, that is also on the website under Volunteer. Last week, Scudder Parker came to the Washington site to help clear the forest floor of random branches in preparation for work the next day on the solo with Ellen Smith Ahern. There are many ways you can be of help, so if you have an idea and it is not in the Volunteer call out, reach out to me or Katie Golden, the volunteer coordinator.
Recently, I met with the narrators at both sites to "choreograph" their part, using the new amplification equipment. It was very helpful for everyone. I came away with needed refinement of the instructions and the text, and delight in the part the narrators play in Forest.
Art making is a community effort. It is about participation and engagement. It is about building new relationships and deepening older ones. Art is not free. Artists need to be paid. The budget is over $100,000. Donations from you and others make up 98% of the revenue. Every dollar counts. Please give generously to Forest so this production can reach its full potential.
Here is a photo I took last week of Yellow Lady Slippers that bloom in the forest at this time of year.
