Forest is a site-specific contemporary dance/theatre piece designed for four woodlands in east Central Vermont to be performed in 2026. 

It is being created by Hannah Dennison, partnered by Leslie Anderson, Matt LaRocca, Steve Long, and Jessie Owens with creative input from Julia Barstow, Judith Chalmer, Jude Domski and Lukas Huffman. It will be performed by a seasoned ensemble of 25 dancers/musicians illuminating the numerous places in the forest next to the quiet, seldom-traveled dirt road. The audience is transported slowly along the woods road, watching each scene develop, learning about the forest along the way. The dance, music and wooded settings accumulate and build on their predecessors. The finale unifies all the movement and musical fragments in a field surrounded by woods. Forest will celebrate the flora and fauna, the trees, the water, and air, and animate the relationship between art, people and nature.
